A search is underway for a woman and four children missing for almost two days in the Te Ureweras. The woman and children aged four to nine were dropped off at the park in the Bay of Plenty at 1pm on Tuesday. They intended to go for a one to two hour walk. Police were informed the five had failed to return at 4pm Wednesday. A spokesperson said the five were dropped at the Otamatuna Ridge Track in the park. Search teams with the help of a helicopter have been searching around the Otamatuna Ridge area, around the Lion’s Hut, overnight and will continue on Thursday. Anyone with any sighting of the walking party are asked to contact the Bay of Plenty Police on 07 348-0099.
