Woman, children missing in Te Urewera

Search and rescue teams are looking for a woman and four children who haven't returned from a walk in Te Urewera. Police were alerted just before 4pm Wednesday when they were reported overdue.They had been dropped off just after 1pm on Tuesday for a one to two-hour walk. The children are aged between four and nine.Search and rescue teams and a helicopter have been searching in the Otamatuna Ridge area overnight and continue today.

Anyone who's seen the group is asked to contact Bay of Plenty police on 07 348 0099.
