The Māori Education Trust 2016 Scholarship Programme is now open and offers scholarships to Māori secondary school and tertiary students who meet the respective scholarships’ criteria.

The Scholarship Programme is made up of the following scholarships:

Secondary

  • Rose Hellaby Scholarship
  • Tī Maru Māori Trust Secondary Boarding Scholarship.

Undergraduate

  • Norman Kirk Memorial Scholarship
  • Rose Hellaby Bursaries Scholarship
  • Roy Watling Mitchell Bursaries Scholarship
  • Tī Maru Māori Trust Scholarship.

Postgraduate

  • Queen Elizabeth II Postgraduate Fellowship
  • Rose Hellaby Postgraduate Scholarship (hard-copy application)
  • Roy Watling Mitchell Prestigious Professions Scholarship
  • Tī Maru Māori Trust Prestigious Scholarship.

Certificates, National Certificates and Diplomas:

•    Regina Rudland Memorial Scholarship (hard-copy application).

Secondary school students can either apply online or download an application form from our website www.maorieducation.org.nz.  Secondary applications and supporting documentation must reach the Māori Education Trust by 4.30 pm, Friday, 26 Hui-tanguru (February) 2016

Tertiary students are required to apply on-line (unless otherwise indicated.)  The Rose Hellaby Postgraduate Scholarship application form can be downloaded from our website www.maorieducation.org.nz.   All tertiary applications and supporting documentation must reach the Māori Education Trust by 4.30 pm, Friday, 1 Paenga-whāwhā (April) 2016.

Attached are copies of two scholarship flyers (secondary and tertiary); we would appreciate it if you would distribute to whānau within your rohe.

Māori Education Trust 2016 Scholarships

The Māori Education Trust 2016 Scholarship Programme is now open and offers scholarships to Māori secondary school and tertiary students who meet the respective scholarships’ criteria.

The Scholarship Programme is made up of the following scholarships:

Secondary

Iwi Registration

The purpose of Iwi Registration is to build the Tūhoe nation by registering in a central place the descendants of Tūhoe tipuna Tūhoe or Potiki and those who affiliate to a Tūhoe Marae and Tūhoe Hapū.  Your Iwi Register is based on Tūhoe whānau and Tūhoe hapū.
