Through the Negotiations process and a lead on from the Political Compact, DOC and Tūhoe have signed a Relationship agreement that recognizes a new way of working together, particularly with Te Urewera. The agreement is seen as a positive tool that respects both the aspirations of DOC and Tūhoe for Te Urewera and how we will work together now and into the future. All the Tūhoe Tribal Authorities have endorsed this kaupapa.
