Te Iwi

Te Iwi – People (The Office of the Tūhoe Development)

Foreword

Similarly, an Iwi wide perspective to social strategy, policy and investment must be developed. Engaging and inviting input from Tūhoe experts in these areas would stimulate deep and meaningful considerations for direction. Iwi plans will determine which mainstream funders support Tūhoe goals and objectives against those who do not. Priorities will include brokering relationships with alternate providers for providing benefits for those Tūhoe who live away. This agenda is the most complex and demanding of all departments. It will have an inter-generational and long term evolutionary approach to achieving many of its goals. It is people focussed; mobilising to effect leadership ability.

 This office will be concerned with;

  • Education
  • Health
  • Welfare
  • Housing
  • Taura here services
  • Kaumātua & Youth Leadership Strategy
